Trip to Laos

I left Chiang Mai and went with a mini van to Huay Kon to cross the boarder to Laos. With a 30 day visa I would have more then enough time to spend in this beautiful country. After staying for one night in Hongsa I traveled down the Mekong River to Luang Prabang. This amazing city is nestled along the famous river and orange-wrapped Buddhist monks are to be seen everywhere. The influence from the era of French colonisation gives the small city its unique touch. After leaving Luang Prabang I took the bus back down to Vientiane to spend a few days before crossing back to Thailand. Probably one of the smallest and most peaceful capital in the world. You can visit the sacred Pha Trat Luang or the Patuxai a large monument reminiscent of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
